City of Everett 01 11 00 - 3 <br /> Inductive Charging Infrastructure for Everett Transit <br /> more industry standards or sets of requirements is specified and overlapping of <br /> ' those different standards or requirements establishes two different or conflicting <br /> minimums or levels of quality, the most stringent requirement is intended and <br /> shall be enforced, unless specifically detailed language written into the Contract <br /> Documents that clearly indicates that the less stringent requirement is to be <br /> ' fulfilled. <br /> PART 2— PRODUCTS (NOT USED) <br /> ' PART 3 - EXECUTION <br /> 3.1 TESTING: Before placement and installation of work that is subject to testing, the <br /> Contractor shall notify the Construction Manager. Such prior notice shall not be less than <br /> 3 workdays unless otherwise designated by the Construction Manager. Manufacturers <br /> and suppliers of materials fabricated off-site and subject to specified testing shall provide <br /> the same prior notices. <br /> 3.2 PROTECTION OF EXISTING VEGETATION, STRUCTURES, EQUIPMENT, UTILITIES <br /> AND IMPROVEMENTS <br /> ' A. The Contractor shall preserve and protect all structures, equipment, and <br /> vegetation (such as trees, shrubs, and grass)on or adjacent to the work site,which <br /> are not to be removed and which do not unreasonably interfere with the work <br /> required under this contract. The Contractor shall avoid damaging vegetation that <br /> will remain in place. If any limbs or branches of trees are broken during contract <br /> performance, or by the careless operation of equipment, or by workers, the <br /> ' Contractor shall prune those limbs or branches in accordance with best <br /> arboricultural practices as directed by the Construction Manager. <br /> ' B. The Contractor shall protect from damage all existing improvements and utilities <br /> at or near the work site and on adjacent property of a third party, the locations of <br /> which are made known to or should be known by the Contractor. The Contractor <br /> shall repair any damage to those facilities, including those that are the property of <br /> a third party, resulting from failure to comply with the requirements of this contract <br /> or failure to exercise reasonable care in performing the work. If the Contractor fails <br /> to repair the damage promptly, the Owner may have the necessary work <br /> 1 performed and charge the cost to the Contractor. <br /> C. Temporary Enclosures <br /> ' Protect the Work from exposure, to weather, and construction activities. <br /> Coordinate enclosures with construction processes, prevent dangerous conditions <br /> ' and effects. Close openings through horizontal surfaces with substantial <br /> load-bearing construction. <br /> D. Traffic Surface Protection <br /> Provide as necessary and as directed to prevent damage to concrete, asphalt, and <br /> masonry pavements; walkways, drives and parking lots.
