I <br /> 1 <br /> I 2 8-04.1 Description <br /> 3 <br /> 4 "Cement Concrete Curb and Gutter Type A-1", "Cement Concrete Curb Type " and <br /> I 5 "Asphalt Wedge Curb", shall be in accordance with Section 8-04 of the Standard <br /> 6 Specifications as modified in these Special Provisions and shall conform to the <br /> 7 Construction Plans and Standard Drawings. <br /> I 8 <br /> 9 SECTION 8-04.3(1) OF THE STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS IS SUPPLEMENTED BY THE <br /> 10 FOLLOWING:Iii <br /> 12 8-04.3 Construction Requirements <br /> 13 <br /> 14 8-04.3(1) Cement Concrete Curbs, Gutters, and Spillways <br /> 15 <br /> 16 Joints shall be dummy joints at a maximum spacing of 15' with 1/2" through- <br /> 17 expansion joints at beginning of curves, at curb return tangency points, at each side <br /> 18 of catch basins, and at driveways. <br /> 19 <br /> 20 The subbase for curb and gutter sections shall be compacted to 95% density at <br /> I21 22 optimum moisture content before placing the curb and gutter. <br /> 23 The top of the finished concrete shall not deviate more than 1/8" in 10', nor the <br /> i 24 alignment 1/4" in 10'. <br /> 25 <br /> 26 Where shown on the plans, or as directed by the Engineer, the concrete curb will be <br /> I 27 depressed for wheelchair ramps and driveways, per Standard Drawing Nos. 307 — <br /> 28 321. <br /> 29 <br /> 30 Cement concrete curbs shall be constructed where shown on plans or as directed by <br /> I 31 32 the Engineer in accordance with Standard Drawing Nos. 307 —311. <br /> 33 Pedestrian curbs, poured in place integral with ramp, shall be constructed where <br /> I 34 shown on plans or as directed by the Engineer in accordance with Standard Drawing <br /> 35 Nos. 320— 321. <br /> 36 <br /> I 37 8-04.5 Payment <br /> 38 <br /> 39 SECTION 8-04.5 OF THE STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS IS SUPPLEMENTED WITH <br /> 40 THE FOLLOWING: <br /> 41 <br /> 42 <br /> I 43 Payment will be made for each of the following bid items that may be included in the <br /> 44 proposal: <br /> 45 <br /> 46 Add the following items: <br /> 47 "Cement Concrete Curb and Gutter Type A-1," per linear foot. <br /> 48 "Cement Concrete Curb Type ," per linear foot. <br /> 49 "Asphalt Wedge Curb," per linear foot. <br /> I50 "Pedestrian Curb," per linear foot. <br /> INTERURBAN TRAIL TO YMCA PEDESTRIAN IMPROVEMENTS SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> IWORK ORDER 3749 Page SP49 of SP68 MAY 2,2022 <br /> I <br />
