• .
1. Provide a letter from the engineer verifying that the plans have been reviewed and are consistent
with the engineering calculations for lateral loads prepared by Sound Structural Solutions and that the
gravity calculations prepared by Design lines are adequate for the proposed addition and alterations
to the existing structure. All engineering should be incorporated into the drawings.
Response:
Construction plan Sheets 1-9 prepared by Design Lines, dated 11-21-2018,were provided
to Sound Structural Solutions for their subsequent review and analysis, from which Sound
Structural Solutions prepared a 28 page lateral analysis with calculations, SSS#
s18811021, dated May 14 2019, signed and sealed by Ronald Skinner, P.E., license
#40421, on 5/16/2019, and from which Sound Structural Solutions prepared
construction plan Sheets S1, S2, S3, and S4, dated 5/15/2019, signed and sealed by
Ronald Skinner, P.E., license #40421, on 5/16/2019. Ronald Skinner's seal is evidenced
on the construction plan Sheets S1,S2,S3,and S4 and the lateral analysis. See attached
letter from the designer confirming the gravity analysis calculations have been re-
reviewed and confirmed that the structure is adequate for the gravity loads for the
proposed addition to the existing structure. Lateral engineering is incorporated in the
existing S sheet drawings.
2. The new walls enclosing the proposed Dining room, including the exterior wall shall be insulated
with minimum R-21 per WSEC Please revise.
Response:
The three perimeter walls of the dining room have been specified to have R-21"Foam-It-
Green"spray foam insulation @ 7.2 per inch. See note in upper right corner of the garage
on Sheet 4, Main Floor Plan.
3. Provide detail of the connection of the new foundation and footings to the existing foundation.
Response:
The connection note is existing in the upper right corner of Sheet 2, Foundation Plan.
4. Provide section drawing showing the connection of the rim joist to the cantilevered floor joists
that are supporting the ledger for the deck joists that are supporting the hot tub.
Response:
The hot tub has been removed from the project. A beam has been added between the
cantilevered floor joists and the deck joists.
5. Provide #4 rebar stubbed out at 18"O.C, maximum at concrete porches capable of resisting
differential settling.
Response:
The rebar connection delineation and note has been added to the front porch on Sheet 2,
Foundation.
0 523 61sT ST SE © 425.879.3437 O brianbodge@msn.com
Everett,WA 98203
2/4
