• •
Attn: Drew Martin j5) IECLElVIE
0
dmartin@everettwa.gov
Plan Check Number B2109-027 APR 0 6 2022
This Response is to your letter of December 9, 2021: CITY OF EVERETT
Permit Services
Response to "General":
1(a): The fireplace insert and the location of the propane tank serving it were shown on Sheet
S-4 as last submitted to the City. But be aware that the fireplace insert and the propane
tank are the subject matter of another approved permit. (Permit#M2108-014.)
1(b): The plumbing fixtures have not been moved from their original location. Cabinets
supporting the pre-existing plumbing fixtures have been removed and will be replaced
when the new cabinets are installed. The only addition to the plumbing fixtures is a wet
bar the location of which was so noted on Sheet S-4 as last submitted to the City. But
again, a separate plumbing permit has already been issued. (Permit#P2108-015.)
Response to "Architectural":
1. There are no gas-fueled kitchen appliances. In that regard, all that has been added is the
fireplace insert and the propane tank per 1(a) above as depicted on Sheet S-4 last
submitted to the City.
2. The smoke detectors are already shown on the plans previously submitted. Per a request
of the City, a fourth detector was added above the new fireplace which is shown on Sheet
S-4 last submitted to the City. Note that Sheet S-4 of the plans last submitted to the City
describe the added detector as smoke/fire/carbon combined. The plans last submitted to
the City include a new Smoke Detector located in the Master Bedroom. As noted on the
last plans submitted to the City, all are hard wired, interconnected and include back up
battery power. The location of the smoke detectors is noted on the Plans with a circled
"S". The alarm clearances are in compliance with your cited code sections.
3. The window glass at"14" was changed out to tempered glass as the original glass was
not. Existing metal framing was retained. Same at"15"where the window frame was
also changed out. The thermal performance of the new glass has been added at "14"
and "15".
4. This detail was sufficiently provided in the plans last submitted to the City on Sheet S-4.
However, additional detail has now been added. I would note that the stairs to begin
with were not code compliant hence our effort to bring them into compliance.
Response to "Structural":
1. Attached to this letter is a document title Lateral Load Calculations which was again
I '2,
