2.3 BOUNDARY DETERMINATION FINDINGS
2.3.1 Wetland A
During the December 2017 site investigation, WRI identified one wetland in the western portion
of the property. This wetland was classified as riverine as it is associated with a perennial stream
(Stream A), and receives significant hydrologic input from it. This wetland also receives
hydrology from runoff/surface flows from surrounding upland areas. The wetland is naturally
vegetated with a forested canopy and understory. However, as previously stated, the wetland
appears to host frequent transient populations, as groundcover vegetation is significantly
compacted or non-existent.
Vegetation in this wetland is represented by black cottonwood (Populus balsamifera; FAC), red
alder (Alnus rubra; FAC), Pacific willow (Salix lucida; FACW), Scouler's willow (Salix scouleriana;
FAC), Sitka willow (Salix sitchensis; FACW), salmonberry (Rubus spectabilis; FAC), Himalayan
blackberry (Rubus arineniacus; FAC), hardback (Spiraea douglasii; FACW), and reed canarygrass
(Phalaris arundinacea; FACW). Several small snags and woody debris are present throughout the
wetland.
Typical soils within Wetland A were saturated or ponded at the time of inspection. Sampled soils
were found to be very dark gray (2.5Y 3/1) silt loam from 0 to 10 inches below the surface, and
dark grayish brown (2.5Y 4/2) silt loam with prominent redoximorphic concentrations from 10
to 18 inches. Soils appear to meet hydric soil criteria, in particular the Depleted Below Dark
Surface (Al 1) indicator. The wetland area, as mapped, appears to satisfy criteria for hydrophytic
vegetation, hydric soils, and wetland hydrology.
1
t. :
_ '4N '
/ - Y
i - '4x
,, 41.1t5 .
