• S 5. Detail 14/A9.01 shows a thickened slab edge at the slab -on -grade (SOG). This is presumed to be used at the garage floor. See Section R.106.1.1. The following comments should be addressed: a. The Foundation Plan on Sheet S4 references Detail E/Sl showing a conventional footing abutted by the SOG. The details should be coordinated for consistency. b. Sheet A1.01-A and the building sections on Sheets A5.01 through A5.03 specify R-10 insulation under the SOG. Detail 14, does not show the insulation, and does not provide a thermal break per Detail E/SI. The detail should be revised. Response: Please refer to revised detail 14/ A9.01. 6. Detail 13/A9.01 appears to include a steel beam and references the structural drawings. The structural drawings do not appear to include steel framirig. The detail should be revised. See Section R106.1.1. Response: Please refer to revised structural drawings. 7. The stairway on Sheet A6.01 and the open Upper Floor above includes guards. The details for the guards and connections are not complete and should be revised. Calculations should be submitted for review substantiating the design of the guards, connections, and supporting framing. The loads per IBC Section 1607.8.1 should be used. See IBC Sections 1603.1 and 1604.1. Response: Please refer to revised A9.01 8. Detail 07/A9.01 shows the connection of the posts to the structure. The details for the guards and connections are not complete and should be revised. Half of the lag screws do not appear to connect to framing. Calculations should be submitted. for review substantiating the design of the guards, connections, and supporting framing. The loads per IBC Section 1607.8.1 should be used.
