The upgraded design will include a revised recirculation pump design which will include an engineer's estimate for the project, at a cost of $60,000. Once the engineer's estimate is known, staff will return to amend this Ordinance to capture the cost of the project. Project summary statement: The existing water from the Forest Park Spray Pad goes directly to the park's drainage system. The goal of the project is to improve water conservation by reducing water consumption at the spray park and to provide a new sanitizing water treatment system. To achieve this goal, the spray park will convert the pumping system into a treated and recirculating system sending the water back to the spray park features. Recirculating the water back to the spray park equipment will significantly improve water conservation. The scope of work includes design and engineering services, construction and bid documents, along with the creation of an engineer's estimate for the costs to remove and replace the water supply system with a recirculating system. Upon completion of the scope of work, plans, specifications, and engineer's estimate, staff will return to Council to amend the Ordinance to capture the total project costs. Recommendation (exact action requested of Council): Adopt an Ordinance creating a special construction project entitled "Forest Park Spray Pad Recirculation Project", Fund 354, Program 079, to accumulate costs for the project in the amount of $60,000.
