On March 30, 2022, Council <br />authorized $167,793.44 for four (4) Ford vehicles. This authorization included $45,229.90 for Fire <br />to purchase one (1) 2022 Ford F150 lightning battery electric vehicle. The order was placed <br />immediately. <br />However, supply chain disruptions have caused Ford to shift the production cycle to 2023 model <br />year vehicles. As a result, an additional $7,610.76 will need to be expended to obtain the vehicle <br />in a timely manner. The new cost to the City is $48,746.00 + $4,094.66 (8.4% Longview vehicle <br />sales tax) = $52,840.66. <br />The model year shift created a sudden and unexpected cut-off date by Ford of 8/31/2022. Ford <br />opened the ordering window on 8/22/2022. At which time, Motor Vehicles gathered <br />specifications and requested pricing. Therefore, the authorization to purchase the vehicles is time <br />sensitive. <br />The City has spent over $250,000 on this contract year-to-date on prior vehicle purchases.
