No budget amendment is required. <br />Project summary statement: <br />Everett Transit has made a significant investment in electric transit vehicles and charging <br />systems. With this grant opportunity, Everett Transit will seek $5,640,000 in Green <br />Transportation funding to replace 5 diesel buses with 5 electric zero -emission buses and charging <br />systems. This will bring the total number of electric vehicles to 26. These are high -profile projects <br />and are supported by Governor Inslee's Clean Energy legislation and Washington's Climate Act. <br />Recommendation (exact action requested of Council): <br />Authorize city staff to apply for and the Mayor to approve and sign all documents relating to the <br />2023-2025 Green Transportation Grant competition and all documents relating to acceptance of <br />the grant. <br />
