PROJECT AND SITE CONDITIONS
1.0 INTRODUCTION
This report prescnts the results of our subsurface exploration and geotechnical eng:neering
study for the proposed commercial development located at the northeast corner of the
intersection of 112"' Street SE and 7'" Avenue SE in Everett, Washington. The project location
is shown on the Vicinity Map, Figure 1. The proposed building locations and aproximate
locations of the explorations accomplished for this study are presented on the Site and
Exploration Plan, Figure 2. In the event that any changes in the nature or design of the
proposed project are planned, the condusions and recommendations contained in this report
should be reviewed and modified, or verified, as nccessary.
(.1 Purpose and Scopc
The purpose of this study was to provide subsurface data to be utilized in the design and
development of the project. Our study included reviewing available geologic lirerature,
excavating exploration pits, performing a visual reconnaissance of the site, and performing
geotechnical studies to assess the type, thickness, distribution, and physical properties of the
subsurface sediments and shallow ground warer conditions. Geotechnical engineering studies
were also conducted to determine the types of suitable foundation, foundation soil bearing
pressures and pile/picr capacities, anticipatcd foundation setdement, floor support
recommendations, and drainage and erosion control considerations. This report summarizes
our current fieldwork and offers development recommendations based on our present
understanding of the project.
1.2 Authorization
Verbl authorization ro proceed with this smdy was gr.,nted by Mr. Ed O' Sullivan of PaciGc
Centers, LLC in 7anuary 2001. Our study vas accumplished in general accordance with our
verbal comnwnications witli Mr. U' Sullivan and has been prepared for the exclusive use of
Pacific Centers, LLC and tfieir agents, for specific application to this project. Within the
limitatinns of scope, schedule, and budget, our services tiave been performed in accordance
with generally accepted geotechnical engineering and engineering geology principles and
practices in effect in this area at the time our report was prepared. No other warranty,
expressed or implied, is made. Our observations, findings, and opinions are a means to
idcntit\ anJ reluce the inherent risks ta the o+ner.
_— _ -- _-- --------
.11anh I9, 'Ik/1 ISSOCIA7'FDE:IRTNSCpIF.\'CLS
SHH ap 6PMlY±YV UIPI"yi 1-Of - R"A.
