Both number of inmates and number of housing days are driving costs upward--the number of inmates through July are up 43% over the same time period in 2021, and housing dates are up over 49%. Although much of the legislation that has been holding down jail bookings is still in place, the Courts are once again able to issue bench warrants, which is impacting the level of activity. Even with this amendment, jail expenditures are still not back to prepandemic amounts. This amendment locks in department labor under expenditures in the amount of $4,035,000. This amount will be allocated to the General Government Non-Departmental fund to offset the 2022 budgeted labor under expenditure assumption. Tally 2022 ATTACHMENT A
