5

We have several of these bike racks downtown.

If Everett wants to achieve silver (notice that bronze was achieved without bicycle racks) status by the League of
American Bicyclists, it is time to start thinking about these little things that make a huge difference. Right now, I am not
going to store any more because I don't want to have my bike and trailer stolen.

I understood that the revision to Chapter 1.20 of the City Code aims to eliminate the situation my family has to endure. I
certainly encourage any changes that will prevent other families from enduring this type of situation. I also encourage
the City Council to make changes to the code that encourages people to walk and ride bikes to local businesses.

Other items that have to be taken care of in our communities would include speeding, vehicle nuance and police
performance.

On Dakota way we have a serious speeding problem, not to mention that cars are allowed to be modified and make as
much noise as possible. Our entire neighborhood is covered in skid marks. These behaviours are illegal, and there is no
enforcement. I have gone so far as to create a you tube channel and be featured in news outlets.

https://www.heraldnet.com/news/everett‐man‐asks‐city‐to‐curb‐fast‐loud‐cars‐on‐25‐mph‐road/
https://www.king5.com/article/news/local/everett‐homeowner‐pleads‐city‐stop‐noisy‐speeding‐drivers/281‐5d6a58c5‐
309f‐4ce5‐8b83‐70eb82e299ba

However, the speed continues as well as the loud cars. Every morning the 6am loud car wakes me up.

Early this year, I was hit by a car at the grocery store, you probably saw an email about it. After I was hit, the driver
called for help and the police department never showed up. Two months later, I received a call from Lt Sutherland, who
commented that the Police Officer (was it Roberts?) did show up to the scene. However, the police report number could
not be provided. The officer who responded to the scene did not even talk to the store manager who had a recording,
from the security camera, of the event but will only provide it to the police department. Personally, I never saw the
police officer.

Lt Sutherland said that the officer could not find us in the parking lot. It does take some effort to see 3 adults standing
around a bike with a trailer and flag, I guess. My bike's setup is as long as a car. I wonder what it takes to be a police
officer nowadays.
