6 <br />  <br />  <br />All I know is that next time I get hit, I will just play dead in the middle of the road. I bet that slowing down traffic will  <br />make the police department show up.  <br />  <br />Two weeks ago I noticed that the City Council Authorized the Mayor To Sign The Interagency Agreement With The  <br />Washington Traffic Safety Commission Regarding Participation As A Sub‐Recipient In The Region 10 Target Zero Task  <br />Force Traffic Safety Grant Project. I was super excited and wanted to write a thank you note. Then, I noticed that you  <br />also approved such participation in 2021. I went to the database and checked for traffic events. It is unfortunate to see  <br />that the number of tickets actually goes down every year, I wonder what's the purpose of the agreement and the paid  <br />overtime if the results (if any) are not measurable or visible.  <br />  <br />  <br />  <br />I was thinking that maybe another agency is keeping the count. I went to the WSDoT website and searched for the  <br />number of fatalities per year for Everett.   <br />For 2017 and 2018 we have 8, for 2021, 10 but for 2022 we have 16 so far. This shows that there is no improvement and  <br />that the number of fatalities on the road could be directly proportional to the number of tickets issued.
