I(EDRICH RESIDENCE., <br />ALLOWABLE AREAS <br />ZONING <br />RR-2 <br />LOT SIZE <br />6049 sqF <br />LOT COV. <br />40% <br />2420sgF <br />WSEC 2015. ENERGY CODE NOTES: <br />1. Ducts shall be leak tested in accordance with WSU RS-33, using the maximum duct leakage rates specified in Section403.3.4. <br />All ducts, air handlers, filter boxes, and building cavities used as ducts shall be sealed. Joints and seams shall comply with Section <br />M1601.4 of the International Residential Code or Section 603.9 of the International Mechanical Code. Duct tightness testing shall be <br />conducted to verify that the ducts are sealed. A signed affidavit documenting the test results shall be provided to the jurisdiction having <br />authority by the testing agent. When required by the building official, the test shall be conducted in the presence of department staff. <br />Duct tightness shall be verified by either of the following: <br />1. Post -construction test: Leakage to outdoors shall be less than or equal to 4 cfm per 100 square feet of conditioned floor area or a total <br />leakage less than or equal to 4 cfm per 100 square feet of conditioned floor area when tested at a pressure differential of 0.1 inches w.g. <br />(25 Pascals) across the entire system, including the manufacturer's air handler enclosure. All register boots shall be taped or otherwise <br />sealed during the test. <br />2. Rough -in test: Total leakage shall be less than or equal to 4 cfm per 100 square feet of conditioned floor area when tested at a <br />pressure differential of 0.1 inches w.g. (25 Pascals) across the roughed -in system, including the manufacturer's air handier enclosure. All <br />register boots shall be taped or otherwise sealed during the test. If the air handler is not installed at the time of the test, total leakage shall <br />be less than or equal to 3 cfm per 100 square feet of conditioned floor area. <br />EXCEPTIONS: 1. Duct tightness test is not required if the air handler and all ducts are located within conditioned space. <br />2. Duct tightness test is not required if the furnace is a nondirect vent type combustion appliance installed in an unconditioned space. A <br />maximum of six feet of connected ductwork in the unconditioned space is allowed. All additional supply and return ducts shall be within <br />the conditioned space. Ducts outside the conditioned space shall be sealed with a mastic type duct sealant and insulated on the exterior <br />with R-8 insulation for above grade ducts and R-5 water resistant insulation when within a slab or earth. R 402.4.4 <br />2. PROVIDE BLOW DOOR TEST. THE RESULTING AIR LEAKAGE SHOULD BE LESS THAN 0.00030 SPECIFIC LEAKAGE <br />AREA(SLA) WHEN TESTED AT 50 PASCALS(0.2"W.G.) OF DEPRESSURIZATION.THE BLOWER DOOR TEST RESULTS NEED TO <br />BE RECORDED ON THE CERTIFICATE THAT IS REQUIRED IN SECTION R401.3 & R402.4.1.2 <br />. PROVIDE INSULATION DEPTH MARKERS IN THE ATTIC EVERY 300sgF. <br />4. HVAC SHALL HAVE PROGRAMMABLE CONTROLS <br />5. MIN. OF 75% OF PERMANENTLY INSTALLED LAMPS IS LIGHTING FIXTURES SHALL BE HIGH -EFFICACY LAMPS. SECTION <br />R 404.1. <br />6. ALL OUT DOOR LIGHTS ATTACHED TO THE HOME MUST HAVE PHOTO DAY LIGHT CONTROLS AND MOTION SENSOR OR <br />BE HIGH EFFICACY <br />7.FURNACE REPLACEMENTS NOW REQUIRE DUCT TESTING PER WSEC SECTION R403.3.3. A WRITTEN REPOT OF THE RESULT SHALL BE <br />SIGNED BY THE PARTY CONDUCTING THE TEST AND ORIVUDED TO THE CODE OFICIAL. <br />EXCEPTION: <br />THE TOTAL LEAKAGE TEST OR LEAKAGE TO THE OUTDOORS IS NOT REQUIRED FOR DUCT AND AIR HANDLERS LOCATED ENTIRELY <br />WITH[ THE BUIDING THERMAL ENVELOPE. FOR FORCED AIR DUCTS A MAXIMUM OF 10LINEAR FEET OF RETURN DUCTS AND 5 LINEAR <br />FEET OF SUPPLY DUCTS A MAY BE LOCATED OUTSIDE THE CONDITIONED SPACE. ALL METALIC DUCTS LOCATED OUTSIDE THE <br />CONDITIONED SPACEMUST HAVE BOTH TRANSVERSE AND LONGITIDINAL JOINTS SEALED WITH MASTIC. FLEX DUCTARE USED CANNOT <br />CONTAIN SPLICES. <br />8.ALL INSULATION SHALL BE IN SUBSTANTIAL CONTACT WITH BEING INSULATED PER WSEC SECTION R402.1.1 TROUGH R402.1.5 <br />EXCEPTION: <br />THE FOLLOWING BUILDINGS OR PORTIONS THEOF, SEPARATED FROM THE REMAINDER OF THE BUILDING BY BUILDING THERMAL <br />ENVELOPE ASEMBLIES COMLYING WITH THIS CODE SHALL BE EXEMPT FROM THE BUILDING THERMAL ENVELOPE PROVISIONS OF THIS <br />CODE: <br />A. THOSE WITH A PEAK DESIGN RATE OF ENERGY USAGE LESS THAN 3.4 Btu/h.ft2(10.7W/Mm2) OR 1.0 WATT/ft2 OF FLOOR AREA FOR <br />SPACE CONDITIONING PURPOSES. <br />B. THOSE THAT DO NOT CONTAIN CONDITIONED SPACE. <br />C. GREENHOUSES ISOLATED FROM ANY CONDITIONED SPACE AND NOT INTENDED FOR OCCUPANCY. <br />9.PER WSEC SECTION R403.1.2.HEAT PUMPS EQUIPPED WITH SUPPLEMENRTARY HEATERS SHALL BE INSTALLED WITH CONTROLS THAT <br />PREVENT SUPPLEMENTAL OPERATION ABOVE 40 DEGREE FAHRENHEIT AND SET TO 32 DEGREES OR LESS AT FINAL INSPECTION. <br />10. SECTION R403.1.1 PROGRAMMABLE THERMOSTAT.THE THERMOSTAT SHALL BE PROGRAMMED BY MANUFACTURER WITH A HEATING <br />TEMPRETURE SET POINT NO HIGHER THAN 70 DEGREE FAHRENHEIT AND A COOLING TEMPRETURE SET POINT NO LOWER THAN 78 <br />DEGREE FAHRENHEIT. <br />11.
