Sampling and Analysis Plan (SAP)
INDUSTRIAL PRETREATMENT
Marshland Soil Nutrients Sampling
Revised 7/26/2022
A. Overview
Biosolids dredged from Aeration Cell 2 and Recirculation Channel are land applied to the
Marshland Site on Lowell-Snohomish River Road owned by the City of Everett. The east and
west fields of the Marshland Site are separated by the Marshland Canal (Appendix A). The
City collects soil samples from the fields to determine application rates for each field prior
to biosolids application and to monitor plant nutrient uptake after crop cutting. Samples are
collected below the organic layer and composited for analysis. Minor modifications to the
implementation of the SAP will be made to ensure representative samples are collected.
Modifications will be documented and submitted to the Biosolids Program Manager (Hanna
Lintukorpi as of July 2022).
B. Access Requirements
An EB-1 key (or 3ECB2 key as of July 2022) or American key is required to access fields. The
code for the combination lock is 1083.
C. Hazards & Safety Precautions
Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required when handling biosolids sampling
equipment, such as steel-toed boots and gloves. Rainboots may be required after rain events.
Due to wet conditions almost year-round on the fields, only drive and park vehicles in the
areas indicated on the map in Appendix A.
D.
