January 4, 2012 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30 <br /> p.m., January 4, 2012 in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City <br /> Hall, President Gipson presiding. <br /> OATHS <br /> Council President Gipson introduced Judge Joseph P. Wilson who <br /> administered the oaths of office to Council Members Stonecipher, <br /> Nielsen, Affholter and Gipson. <br /> The council meeting recessed and reconvened. <br /> Upon roll call it was found that Mayor Stephanson and Council Members <br /> Roberts, Moore, Hatloe, Gipson, Nielsen, Stonecipher and Affholter were <br /> present. <br /> Council Member Stonecipher led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the December 28, 2011 Everett City Council meeting were <br /> approved as printed. Council Members Nielsen and Stonecipher <br /> abstained. <br /> MAYOR <br /> Mayor Stephanson congratulated the council members on their reelection. <br /> The Mayor commented on an announcement from the Boeing Company <br /> that they will be closing down their plant in Wichita, Kansas and laying off <br /> 2100 employees. <br /> Mayor Stephanson stated that the city has been working with Worksource <br /> and that he met with legislators this week to brief them on Kimberly Clark. <br /> He reported that nearly 500 of the Kimberly Clark employees have been <br /> going through Worksource for resume development and retraining. <br /> 1 <br />
