SECTION 2 - SPECIFICATIONS <br />2.1 INTENT SUMMARY <br />The City of Everett is seeking a contractor to perform routine landscaping maintenance at various <br />locations throughout the city. Landscape laintenance services include lawn care and edging, leaf control <br />and removal, weed control including annual pre- and post -emergent applications, shrub, and bush <br />trimming, shaping, tree pruning, shaping, irrigation maintenance, and mulching. <br />The contractor will furnish all labor, tools, and equipment necessary to perform the work as specified. <br />There is no site visit for this project. Most locations are available for public access and contractors are <br />encouraged to visit and inspect the sites at their convenience. <br />2.2 INTENT OF SPECIFICATIONS <br />The apparent silence or omission in the specifications as to any detail of the work to be done or materials <br />to be furnished means that the best general practice shall prevail, and that material and workmanship of <br />the best quality shall be used. The specifications shall be interpreted on this basis. <br />2.3 LANDSCAPING MAINTENANCE AND SCHEDULING <br />The city maintains landscaping at thirty-two (32) locations within Everett city limits. Locations and <br />quantity of services are identified in Form 4.02 Price Sheet. Each location has an address, frequency and <br />level of landscape maintenance expected by the City of Everett. <br />The contractor will schedule site visits for maintenance, which will not interrupt City of Everett <br />operations, city employees, or the community. A sample schedule is requested in Form 4.03 <br />Questionnaire. <br />2.4 CLIMATE ACTION PLAN <br />The City of Everett passed Resolution 7475 and 7476 to adopt a Climate Action Plan. Contractors are <br />encouraged to provide products and services that support necessary responses to climate change to the <br />extent possible. The Resolutions can be viewed in Appendix A and B. <br />2.5 LOCATIONS OF WORK <br />All locations are located in Everett, WA, with the exception of the Water Filtration Plant, which is near <br />Monroe, WA. <br />• Appendix C identifies the City of Everett limits where services will be required. <br />• Appendix D identifies the Service Center Facilities at 3200 Cedar Street. <br />Washington state sales tax at Everett locations, identified as Group A, is 9.9%, while the Monroe location, <br />identified as Group B, is 8.5%. <br />
