2.6 ROUGH GRASS AREAS <br />Weed control: all areas must be kept 3-4 inches in height through mechanical means. Pre -emergent <br />pesticide should be applied in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations and based on the <br />frequency in Form 4.02 Price Sheet. <br />Line trimming: all hard surfaces and tree well edges will be edged every other week during the mowing <br />season and the surface either swept or blown clean. These areas must have an established edge showing <br />a neat, groomed, and well -manicured appearance. Method of edging will be mechanical edger for all <br />hard-edge surfaces and monofilament line for all soft edges. All debris shall be swept clean and shall not <br />be left in streets or on adjacent property. <br />Blowing and clean-up: all clippings and debris will be swept or blow -cleaned from site after each mowing. <br />They shall be collected and removed from walkways and parking areas, not blown back onto grass areas. <br />Trash patrol: remove all trash and landscaping debris resulting from landscaping services during each site <br />visit. <br />2.7 TURF AREAS <br />Fine mowing and edging: prior to each mowing, remove all liter and debris from all lawn areas. All mower <br />blades must be sharp enough to cleanly cut the grass blades without ripping or tearing. All grass will be <br />mowed once a week at a height of no less than 1-1/2 inches and no more than 2-1/2 inches during the <br />mowing seasons from March to October, and once every other week in February and November. The <br />contractor must maintain, at all times, a uniform contour and lawn height free from scalping. <br />Broadleaf weed control: utilize spot applications of the contact herbicide during the growing season. <br />Blowing and clean-up: all clippings and debris will be swept or blow -cleaned from site after each mowing. <br />They shall be collected and removed from walkways and parking areas, not blown back onto turf areas. <br />Fertilization: a well-balanced, slow -release fertilizer shall be applied to turf areas as required to provide <br />vigorous deep rooting and a healthy green appearance year-round. <br />\\lbs. <br />Trash patrol: grass and edge clippings must be mulched or removed from the turf area to maintain a neat <br />appearance. Empty trash containers at each site visit; replacing plastic bags. Pick up loose litter in all areas <br />upon each site visit. <br />Tree maintenance: any tree limbs obstructing walkways, driveways, or considered hazardous shall be <br />removed immediately. Deciduous trees will be pruned for shape and health during the dormant season. <br />Conifers are typically pruned in late summer through fall. Lower limbs shall be removed to allow clearance <br />as dictated by required overhead clearance according to Public Works Pruning Clearance standards. <br />Pruning shall be done following ISA standards and in accordance with the species growth habit. <br />2.8 BED AREAS <br />Weed control: all areas must be kept weed free through pre -emergent applications and manual means. <br />Pre -emergent products should be applied in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. <br />
