• <br /> ORDINANCE No. <br /> 3049. <br /> AN ORDINANCE fixing and determining the number of the <br /> various officers, assistants, deputies and employees of the City <br /> of Everett ; prescribing the duties of such officers, assistants, <br /> deputies and employees ; fixing their salaries; repaaling <br /> Ordinance No. 3022 of the amity of Everett, and providing that <br /> this Ordinance shall take effect on January 1, 1946 . <br /> TITh CITY OF EVTERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1 : That beginning January 1, 1946, and on <br /> and after said date , the various officers, assistants, deputies <br /> and employees of the City of Everett, in addition to those pro- <br /> vided for in the Charter of the City of Everett , shall be as in <br /> this Ordinance provided . <br /> Section 2: CITY ATTORNEY DEPJR'IYENT. <br /> There shall be in the office of the City Attorney an <br /> Assistant City ittorney, a stenographer and a relief steno- <br /> grapher (part time) . <br /> Said Assistant City Attorney and said stenographers <br /> shall perform such duties as the City Attorney may authorize <br /> and direct . <br /> Section 3: CITY HALL DEPARTMENT. <br /> There shall be in the City Hall Department one janitor <br /> and one assistant janitor. Said janitor and said assistant <br /> janitor shall perform the janitor work in connection with the <br /> City Hall. <br /> Section 4: LIBRARY DEPA.RTYENT. <br /> There shall be in the Library Department the follow- <br /> ing named officers, assistants and employees, to-wit: <br /> One Librarian; One Children's Librarian; One Reference <br /> and School Librarian; One Circulation and Stations Librarian; <br /> One Reference Librarian; Two Clerks; One Juvenile Clerk, (part <br /> time) ; One or more cataloguers, (part time ) ; One or more office <br /> assistants, substitutes and typists ; One or more Clerks, (part <br /> time ) ; One or more pages, shelvers, renders, etc. , (part time ) . <br /> The Librarian shall be in general charge and shall <br /> have supervision of the Library Department . The other <br /> officers, assistants end employees shall perform such duties <br /> as pertain to the nature of their office and es authorized <br /> and directed by the Librarian. <br />
