• The L.ssistant and *special examiners in the Civil Service Department shall be appointed by the Civil Service Commission. The. Clerk of the . olice Court Department shall be appointed by the Police Justice . The officers, assistants and employees in the Depart- ment of Finance shall be appointed by the Commissioner of Finance. The officers, assistants and employees of the Depart- ment of Safety shall be appointed by the Commissioner of Safety. The officers, assistants and employees in the Depart- ment of Public Works shall be appointed by the Commissioner of Public Works. Section 24: That on and after the 1st day of January, 1946, the salaries and compensations to be paid to the officers, assistants, deputies and employees of the City of Everett shall be as in this Ordinance provided.
