practices.The Consultant will coordinate with City staff to identify standard and non-standard bid items <br /> used for the project.The Consultant will perform a quantity takeoff and develop an itemized <br /> construction cost estimate using unit costs based on experience and recent similar project bid tabs.The <br /> construction cost estimate will include appropriate contingencies in accordance with AACEI guidelines. <br /> The Consultant will also identify possible "add-alternative" project work areas. A construction schedule <br /> will be prepared in conjunction with the OPCC. <br /> Prepare 100% Estimate of Probably Construction Cost and Construction Schedule <br /> The Consultant will prepare the final Engineer's Estimate to be used during bidding, by completing final <br /> design and incorporating comments from previous design submittal to update the estimate.The final <br /> construction cost contingency amount will be added as directed by the City.The Consultant will prepare <br /> a Class 1 OPCC at 100% design in accordance with the AACEI recommended practices, and a <br /> construction schedule. <br /> Deliverables: <br /> 1. 30% OPCC Estimate and Construction Schedule—2 electronic files (MS Excel, PDF) <br /> 2. 60% OPCC Estimate and Construction Schedule—2 electronic files (MS Excel, PDF) <br /> 3. 90% OPCC Estimate and Construction Schedule—2 electronic files (MS Excel, PDF) <br /> 4. 100% OPCC Estimate and Construction Schedule—2 electronic files (MS Excel, PDF) <br /> Task 2800-Construction Bid Assistance <br /> Assumptions: <br /> • Bidding advertisement period will last approximately 1 month. <br /> • City will act as primary contact for receiving bidding questions. <br /> • An estimate of 80 hours is allocated for responses to bidder questions by the Consultant. <br /> • Addendum preparation budget is based on preparation of three addenda. One addendum will <br /> be minimal effort (minor clarifications via written response to questions without attachments) <br /> and another is assumed to be of moderate complexity(re-issue a maximum of four drawings or <br /> specification sections). <br /> • An estimate of 40 hours is allocated for preparation of drawing or technical specifications, if <br /> needed,for issuance with an addendum. <br /> • An estimate of 30 hours is allocated for conformance of drawing or technical specifications, if <br /> needed. <br /> • Due to the unpredictable nature of bidding, budget for this task is considered an allocation and <br /> the level of effort will be adjusted to meet the budget. Should the City require additional <br /> assistance to complete the work, budget can be authorized by the City from Task 2900 <br /> Supplemental Services or Unanticipated Tasks. <br /> • The City shall be responsible for: <br /> o Printing bid documents, posting public notices in newspapers and online plan centers, <br /> distributing, and tracking document distribution. <br /> April 2022 Page 32 of 35 Jacobs Engineering Group <br />
