Our response appears in bold. <br /> Engineering Review Division: <br /> Structural <br /> 1. Main Floor Demolition Plan on Sheet A-2.1 shows removal of interior walls at multiple locations. <br /> Documentation shall be submitted verifying that the walls are non-loading bearing walls.The documentation <br /> may include,but is not limited to,floor,roof,and wall framing plans demonstrating the gravity framing load <br /> paths.Where the walls are load bearing,framing plans,sections,and details shall be provided to modify the <br /> load paths.Structural calculations shall be submitted for review that substantiate framing modifications.See <br /> IBC Sections 1603.1, 1604.1,and 1604.4. <br /> Existing framing plans were obtained and compared to the proposed alterations. Structural load path <br /> analysis determined that no new beams are required to be installed for the proposed alterations. Refer <br /> to the attached structural analysis for additional information. <br /> 2. Continuing with the previous comment,the"General Plan Notes"section on Sheet S-2.1 shall include a <br /> requirement for a structural engineer to verify that partition walls are non-load bearing prior to demolition. <br /> See IBC Section 1704.6.1 Item 5. <br /> A note will be added to the drawings for the required observation by a structural engineer.
