Your comments are listed, with the responses following in bold <br />type. <br />Accessibility <br />1. The lower level plan shows the demolition of four reception desks for appointment check -in, and the <br />relocation of an existing reception desk to provide this primary function in one location, as compared to <br />four. <br />a. Please clarify how this alteration complies with IBC section 1109.12.3 and ICCA117.1-2009 section <br />904.3 for accessible service counters, and IBC section 3411.7 alterations affecting an area <br />containing a primary function. <br />Reception and check -in for the lower level departments is being centralized to one <br />desk location. The desk is an existing desk that is being relocated from another area. <br />There will be three reception stations, one of which is accessible and ADA compliant. <br />The lower level reception desk meets the following accessibility requirements: Per IBC <br />section 1109.12.3, one of the three stations is accessible. Per ICC A117.1-2009 section <br />904.3.1, the accessible reception station provides a parallel approach to someone <br />using a wheelchair. The counter surface is greater than 36" in approach width, and the <br />counter height at 34" a.f.f., will be less than the 36" maximum height allowed. A clear <br />floor space of 30" x 48" will be provided in front of the desk, as required by section <br />305. As required by IBC section 3411.7, the reception desk is located along an existing <br />accessible route served by an accessible entrance at grade and by elevator. <br />O/Z_ <br />
