All related design costs <br />are estimated at $160,000. <br />Project summary statement: <br />This project will renovate Edgewater Park after the construction of the Edgewater Bridge <br />Replacement Project is completed. The renovations will include a new play area, sport court, <br />park amenities, signage, and landscaping. Architectural & Engineering consultant services will <br />be contracted to develop schematic design, bid documents, construction drawings, and assist <br />with bidding and construction administration. <br />The play equipment was installed over 20 years ago and should be updated to offer improved, <br />accessible play space for children of all ages. A walking path will be constructed around the <br />circumference of the park to offer opportunities for passive recreation. Landscape frontage <br />will be added along Shore Drive to enhance the appearance of the park in the neighborhood. <br />Staff will come back to Council for approval to amend the funding Ordinance once we have an <br />Engineer's estimate for construction costs. <br />Recommendation (exact action requested of Council): <br />Adopt an Ordinance creating a special improvement project entitled "Edgewater Park <br />Renovations", Fund 354, Program 084 to accumulate all costs for the project. <br />
