duty station within forty five(45)minutes,unless other timelines are agreed upon with the Department <br /> Director or designee. <br /> Qualified personnel shall be determined by the City by classification and assigned by seniority or a <br /> rotational system may be established following a Union conducted majority vote of the affected <br /> employees. If insufficient volunteers exist,emergency standby will be assigned using reverse seniority <br /> (extenuating circumstances will be considered). <br /> Employees on standby shall receive thirty two dollars($32.00)per weekday assigned and forty eight <br /> dollars($48.00)per weekend day or holiday assigned. A day shall be defined as a 24-hour period from <br /> the commencement of standby. <br /> Section 8: Telephonic/Electronic Device Responses <br /> An employee who has been authorized by the department head or designee to respond after hours <br /> telephonically,by computer or other electronic device in order to perform work related job duties will be <br /> paid according to the following schedule: <br /> Employees who are not on standby but who are required by the Employer to respond to work-related <br /> issues. Responses to after hour questions will be paid for time actually spent resolving the issue rounded <br /> to nearest fifteen(15)minute increment,paid at the overtime rate. <br /> A. Employees on standby who respond to a work-related issue. Responses to an after-hour question <br /> will be considered as incidental to standby pay,provided that it lasts 15 minutes or less. Calls <br /> lasting more than 15 minutes will be compensated with overtime for the length of the telephone <br /> call after the first 15 minutes. <br /> B. Employees are required to keep and submit in a timely manner,detailed records of each after <br /> hour telephone contact or electronic device response in order to claim overtime for this contact. <br /> These records must include the date,time,duration,caller and a clear and concise verifiable <br /> description of the purpose or nature of the contact. <br /> In the event that the after-hour telephone contact or electronic device response results in the employee <br /> physically reporting to work,the provisions of Article 8,Section 6 will apply and the employee will not <br /> be eligible for any additional After Hours Telephonic/Electronic Device Response compensation. <br /> Section 9: Mandatory Training/Mandatory Meetings <br /> An employee who reports to a mandatory training or mandatory meeting that is not contiguous with their <br /> regular shift shall be paid a minimum of three(3)hours or the actual time worked,whichever is greater,at <br /> the overtime rate. For purposes of this provision,meetings shall not include normal job-related <br /> participation in public meetings(such as Councils,Boards,Commissions, and neighborhood meetings). <br /> Section 10: Premium Pay <br /> A. Out-of-Class Pay <br /> An employee that is formally assigned by their supervisor to work in a higher classification shall <br /> be paid out-of-class pay in increments of fifteen(15)minutes for all time worked in the higher <br /> classification. <br /> 20 <br />
