Module Installation <br /> 6.1 Module Level Power Electronic Installation <br /> If module level power electronics (MLPE) are to be used with the array and mounted on the rails, they should be installed <br /> prior to installing the PV modules. There are two methods for attaching these components, either the Rail / MLPE <br /> Attachment or the Rail/ Low Mount MLPE Attachment. The two options should be selected by the installer based on site <br /> conditions, panel clearance, and system configuration. <br /> Rail / MLPE Attachment Installation: <br /> ■ Insert the T-bolt and flanged nut through the mounting flange of the device to be <br /> mounted to the QRail with the T-bolt below the mounting flange. - <br /> ■ Insert T-head into the top channel of the QRail rail and, using a 13 mm wrench or _ <br /> socket, tighten the nut to 15 ft-lbf (20 N-m). <br /> Rail/ Low Mount MLPE Attachment Installation: <br /> ■ <br /> ■ Insert the T-bolt on the base of the L-Foot into the downslope channel of the QRail <br /> Rail and tighten nut to a torque of 16 ft-lbf (22 N-m) Image 6.1.1 <br /> Rail/MLPE Attachment <br /> ■ Install the provided hex bolt into the mounting flange of the device and slot in the <br /> L-Foot, Bolt facing downward, then install the provided flange nut --� <br /> and torque to 16 ft-lbf (22 N-m) <br /> 7, 'r- r <br /> Image 6.1.2 <br /> Use only 20mm long T-bolts when Rail/Low MLPE Adapter <br /> ' mounting Module Level Power <br /> • Electronics (MLPE) to top of rail. <br /> 25mm long T-bolts increase the risk <br /> CAUTION of contact with the back sheet. <br /> If using non-nylon patched t-bolts tighten to 15 ft-lbf(20 N-m) <br /> B1 7.2.3-46 24 Jul-2019, Rev 4.2 <br />
