SECTION 2 - SPECIFICATIONS
2.1 INTENT AND BACKGROUND
Everett Transit is a department within the City of Everett which operates Everett Station, located at 3201
Smith Ave., Everett, WA 98201. Everett Station is the largest multi -modal facility in Snohomish County,
with over twenty bus routes serving station patrons across multiple providers.
Everett Transit plans to enhance the customer experience at Everett Station by displaying real-time
information related to the fixed -route bus services available at Everett Station. \-..11 In.\
Part A describes the requirement for digital information displays. The project includes digital displays
inside the Great Hall, outside the Transit Customer Service Center (CSC), and at the bus platforms. In the
future, Everett Transit may add similar signage to other locations within the system. The anticipated
placement of all display locations is depicted in Appendix 5.
Part B describes the need for off -the -shelf content management software. Z he software is intended to
work with the digital information displays.
Staff identified potential locations outlined in this document. However, suggestions that improve visibility,
such as size, layout, or quality of information for customers, given the supplier's experience, will be
considered in the award.
The City intends to award one contract for Part A and B of the solicitation.
2.2 NOTICE OF FUNDING
The City of Everett has received federal grant funding from the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) to
procure digital information displays for use by the Everett Transit.
Appendix 6 contains the applicable federal articles and clauses. These articles and clauses are non-
negotiable. Suppliers must sign and return the clauses as part of their RFP response per Section 4.1.
2.3 SERVICE PROVIDERS AND ROUTES
The primary service providers at Everett Station are:
• Everett Transit — 10 bus routes
• Community Transit — 4 bus routes
• Sound Transit — 2 bus routes, 1 train route
• Skagit Transit —1 bus route
• Island Transit —1 bus route
• Greyhound —1 bus route
• FlixBus —1 bus route
It is anticipated that the primary providers will add routes or new providers will add services for Everett
Station patrons. Thus, the display must be able to accommodate adjustments, such as the number of lines
available for viewing real-time or schedule information.
