PART A — DIGITAL INFORMATION DISPLAYS
2.4 BACKGROUND
To enhance the customer experience at Everett Station, the city intends to put four to five digital
information displays (DID) throughout the location. These displays would be configured in a manner that
allows for information regarding provider routes to be displayed for public viewing.
Due to the importance of providing real-time information to customers, digital displays should remain
operational with minimal downtime. It is preferred that any downtime occurs when transit routes are not
operating. This is typically between the hours of 1:30 a.m. and 3:30 a.m.
2.5 CONCEPTS OF OPERATIONS a
The digital displays should be large enough to accommodate information regarding all bus routes serving
the station and, at a minimum, will show the service provider, route number and name, route departure
times, and location.
.._
The supplier will be responsible for aggregating the General Transit Feed Specification (GTFS) and General
Transit Feed Specification Real-time (GTFS-RT) data from the agencies that have it available and who serve
Everett Station. Additionally, they must work with Everett Transit Customer Service and Planning staff in
ensuring that information is displayed accurately and in a manner that is easy for customers to
understand. If the GTFS-RT is not available or interrupted, the system shall display schedule information
as a default. For agencies that do not have the data in a GTFS or GTFS-RT format, the supplier will work
with Everett Transit and Information Technology (IT) staff and provide solutions that would be most
meaningful to customers.
2.6 EQUIPMENT PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
The requirements defined in this section contain the overall general functions of the requested digital
information display solution. The successful supplier will be required to warrant that its proposed solution
will fulfill the functionality described in the following, as well as all functionality described in the supplier's
literature.
Installation of the displays is not within the scope of this Request for Proposal and will be completed
through other contracting mechanisms.
The following table illustrates the features that are either required or desired of the new digital
information displays:
Functionality
D = Desired
R = Required
Ability to prevent unauthorized access to the unit.
R
Full color, full -matrix RGB color, LED display.
R
Minimum 1080p full high -definition resolution.
R
Locations are identifiable through the Content Management System.
R
Parts made of corrosion -resistant material.
R
