Section 26: It is the purpose of this ordinance to fix the number and description of the permanent assistants, deputies and employees in the various offices of the City of Everett, and nothing herein contained shall be construed so as to prevent the various officers and various heads of the Depart- roonts of the City of Everett from employing, with the consent of the City Council, such additional employees, es , from time to time, may be necessary in the proper discharge of the duties of such offices, or from discontinuing such temporary employees when the necessity therefor has ceased to exist. -7-
