NIEHS Oil Spill Cleanup Training Tool <br />OSHA <br />, <br />Occupational Exposure Limits for NO2 <br />• The NIOSH Recommended Exposure Limit for NOZ is 1 ppm for a 15 minute <br />period, the same as the OSHA ceiling limit for this compound. There is <br />no full shift TWA exposure criteria set by either NIOSH or OSHA for this <br />compound. The ACGIH TLV for NOz is 3 ppm for an 8-hour TWA, with a <br />STEL of 5 ppm for 15 minutes. <br />NOTE: Workers should be informed that OELs based on <br />standard times are not appropriate for monitoring. <br />NOTE: OELs do not include skin contact, absorption and <br />ingestion which are common in cleanups. <br />Check with your site supervisor for additional guidance! <br />46 WORKER EDUCATION & TRAINING PROGRAM <br />
