OSHA NIEHS Oil Spill Cleanup Training Tool A& <br />High-pressure Hot Water (continued) <br />Occupational Hazards <br />• The spray uses hot water at temperatures near 180 degrees Fahrenheit or <br />60 degrees Celsius from a type of wand nozzle which can cause first and <br />second degree burns. <br />• High-pressure water typically is released at 690 kPa and flows at a rate <br />around 1,890 liters per minute. High-pressure water contact can cause skin <br />swelling and small abrasions.
