Regarding the truncated domes, I'm checking internally with our Streets folks to make sure they agree
with your interpretation, I should have a response on that issue by Monday.
Regarding the luminaire relocation, thank you for accommodating that request.
The City can definitely provide a NO PARKING WITHIN 30 FEET sign at the subject location. I'll write a
work order to have it installed before your project is completed.
Regarding my comments about the "abrupt" grade change, I'm satisfied that your Civil team has
considered and addressed this design concern. No additional response is necessary on this issue. Be
aware, however, that once the project is constructed if the slopes don't meet ADA requirements (as
determined by the Public Works Inspector) you'll be responsible to redo them.
Michael
From: Popach, David <DAPooachPSnooud.com>
Sent: Friday, April B, 2022 2:20 PM
To: Michael Brick <Mergk(deverettwa.eov>, Corey Hert <CH ertrd everettwa.eov>
Cc: Drescher, Jemme dRDrescher@snopud.com>
Subject: RE: [EXTERNAL] FW: Permit#PW2105-046
Michael,
Thank you for reaching out today and sending the comments. Here are our responses:
• Regarding the truncated domes see response from Sandra Higgins of Capital Architects Group:
Truncated domes are the standard for detectable warnings on curb ramps and at Rush transitions from sidewalks
to street crossings.
Further stated, they are required at transitions to danger, such as a roadway, train crossing or subway platforms.
In our case, there is no danger between the passenger side of the vehicle and the sidewalk. Truncated domes are
not required.
• Luminaire will be moved back to 4'from face or curb, great comment.
• Will the "NO PARKING WITHIN 30'" sign be provided/installed by COE? No problem with this
change.
• "Abrupt grade change" comments
Our Civil consultant DEA responded that there will be no vertical drop or abrupt grade change and the
transition to existing will be smooth and meet accessibility requirements, please let us know If you want
more detail on this.
