rr <br /> ORDINAITCE No. <br /> AI` 011,1DINANCE amending Section 3 of Ordinance No. 2730 <br /> of the City of Everett, entitled as follows: <br /> "An Ordinance relating to the public health and <br /> providing for the inspection of animal meats intended <br /> for human consumtition, regulating and licensing the <br /> preparation, handling and sale of such meats, defining <br /> offenses, and prescribing penalties for the violation <br /> thereof," <br /> and declaring <br /> ng an emergency. <br /> T tCITY._pF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1 That Section 3 of Ordinance ITo. 2730 <br /> of the City of ;.,verett be , and the same is hereby amended to <br /> read as follows: <br /> Section 3: Regulations governing Retail neat Shops: <br /> Every bleat Shop shall be constructed, equipped, <br /> maintained and operated in accordance with the following rules <br /> and regulations, to-wit : <br /> Every such shop shall be equipped with a refrigerator <br /> or cooling room containing a minimum of Forty (40 ) square feet <br /> of floor space with a six foot overhead clearance end door six <br /> foot in height , so constructed as to be capable of maintaining <br /> a temperature therein of not to exceed 40 degrees above zero <br /> Fahrenheit, provided, however, that the foregoing requirements <br /> shall not be deemed or construed to be a prerequisite to the <br /> issuance of a beat Shop License for the use of any premises <br /> by any person who was, on the 1st day of April, 1934, in good <br /> faith, occupying and using, ±br the preparation for sale , or <br /> for the sale or disposition of "uncooked meat" to consumers , <br /> any such building , premises and/or part thereof, provided the <br /> same is equipped with a refrigerator or cooler capable of <br /> maintaining the temperature above described and containing not <br /> less than Twenty (20) cubic feet of space. <br /> Every such shop shall contain dressing rooms, toilet <br /> rooms conforming to the requirements of the Building Code , <br /> lavatory facilities in or adjacent to toilet rooms in the <br /> building , and hot water tank capable of providing hot water <br /> under pressure for cleaning purposes. <br /> Every such establishment shall be maintained in a <br /> sanitary condition, shall be free from flies, rats, mice and <br /> veriin, and every shop hereafter established shall be equipped <br /> with meat racks of hard material , and adequate supply of hot <br /> water artificial refrigeration, and where meats and/or <br /> sausages are sold to the public , the meat shall be contained in <br /> artificial refrigerating counters with glass protection and <br /> front aria • covers, meat blocks, scales and meat choppers, end <br /> all knives, cleavers , saws arid other instruments and utensils <br /> used therein shall be thoroughly cleaned after each day's work. <br />
