Section 25: The appointment of all employees in all departments where required by the City Charter shall be made sub ject to Civil Service regulations of the City of Everett , PROVIDED, in the event vacancies occur and there is no eligibili 'y list from which said vacancies my be filled temporary appoint- ments may be made of persons without Civil Service standing. The Deputy City Attorney and the Stenographer in the City Attorney Department shall be appointed by the City Attorney The City Clerk shall be ex of fi cio Secretary of the Civil Service Commission. The Assistant Lxaminer in the Civil Service Department shell be appointed by the Civil Service Commission. The Clerk of the Police Court Department shall be appointed by the Police Justice. The officers, assistants and errployee s in the Depart- ment of Finance shall be appointed by the Commissioner of Finance . The officers, assistants and employees in the Depart- ment of Safety shall be appointed by the Commissioner of Safety. The officers, assistants and employees in the Depart- ment of Public ' orks shall be appointed by the Commissioner of Public ':forks. Section 26: `ihat on and after the 1st day of JanuEry, 1943, the salaries and compensations to be paid to the officers, assistants and employees of the City of Everett, herein specified, shall be as in this ordinance provided, to-wit : Section 27: CITY ATTORNEY DEPART.J TT.
