Said officers, assistants and employees shall perform the duties pertaining to such office as indicated by the name of their respective employ nts, and such other duties as the Superintendent of Streets or Cor:azissioner of Public 'Yorks shall, from time to time, authorize and determine. . Section 23: WATER DITARTIENT. • There shall be the following named officers, assistant - and employees in the Water Department of the City of Everett , to-wit: One Superintendent (part t ire ) ; One Gene ral Foreman ; One Chief Clerk; One Inventory Clerk; One accountant; One Dis- tribution Operator ; Taw Water Control Station Operators; One rieadworks Operator; Two Draftsmen ., Four Foremen; One Welder; One Blacksmith ; One Blacksmith Helper; One Inspector; One Assistant Inspector; One Water Purification Inspector (part time ) ; One Caterpillar Operator ; One Shovel Operator; Two Bulldozer Operators; One Machinist; Four Truck Drivers; One Auto Repe irraan ; One Auto Repairman Helper ; One Servicemen ; One Servi c eman Helper ; One Meter Repairman ; One Carpenter; One Hydrant Flusher ; One Relief Operator ; One Janitor; One Basin Patrolman; One Pipefitter ; Six Skilled Laborers; One Project Engineer; and one or more c or aon laborers (part time ) . The Superintendent shall be in general charge and supervision of the Water Department . The other officers, assistants and employees shall perform such duties as pertain to the nature of their office and as authorized end directed by the Superintendent of the Water System and Commissioner of Public Works. Section 24: It is the purpose of this Ordinance to fix the number and description of the permanent assistants, deputies and employees in the various offices of the City of Everett , and nothing herein contained shall be construed so es to prevent the various officers and various heads of the depart ments of the City of Everett from employing, with the consent of the City Council, such additional Employees, as, from time to time , may be necessary in the proper discharge of the duties of such offieothei'oforlhas71ceased to exist.temporary er_iployee • when the necessity
