• Section 20. Certificate of 0ccuyancy No vacant land shall be occupied or used and no building hereafter erected shall be occupied or used, nor shall the use of a building be changed from a use limited to one district to that of any other district as defined by this ordinen' e until a certificate of occupancy shall have been issued by the Building Inspe ctor. No permit for excavation for any building shall be issued before the applic ation ha s been made for certi fic ate of occupancy . Land : Certificate of occupancy for the use of vacant lands or the change in the use of land, as herein provided shall be applied for before any such land shall be occupied or used and a certificate of occupancy shall be issued within ten (10) days after the application has been Is de, providing such use in c onfonuity with the pro visions of these regulations and the occupancy provisions of the Uniform Building Code. Non-conforming Uses: Upon a written request of the a finer the Building inspe ctor shel 1 issue a certificate of occupany for any building or land existing at the time this ordinance takes effect , certifying , after inspection, the use of the building or :lend and whether such use conforms to the provisions of this ordinance . '>Jiiere a plot ..plan , as above provided, is not already on file , an application for a certifi- cate of occupancy shall be accompanied by E survey in duplicate form, such as is required for a permit . Section 21 . Validity : Should any section, clause or p rovi on of this ordi na nce be decla red by the co in t s to be inval id , the same she 11 not affect the valid ity of the ordi ran ce a s a whole or any part there of , other than the part so declared to be invalid . Section 22 . Confl lettng; Pro vi si ons : That all ordinances ar arts of ordinances in con- flict herewith and not nude a. part hereof be, and the sane are hereby repealed . Section 23. Violations end Penalties. .Any person, firm or corporation who violates , dis- obeys, omits, neglects ar refuses to comply with or who resists the en fcrcement of any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be fined in any sum not more than fifty dollars ( 150 .00 ) , or imprisoned in the city jail for a term of not exceeding thirty (30) days far each offense. Each day the t a viola ti on is permitted to exist shall cons titute a seixa rate offense. -19-
