r r <br /> CIVIL PLANS: <br /> 1. Sheet C 1.0 shows MSE retaining walls at the southeast and southwest corners of the <br /> buildings. The following comments should be addressed: <br /> a. The geometry and locations or the walls are not consistent with the architectural <br /> drawings per Sheet A 1.1. The walls should be reviewed and revised as needed. <br /> Note that revisions to the walls appear to increase the retained heights. See IBC <br /> Section 107.2.1. <br /> The walls have been revised to be consistent with the architectural plans. <br /> b. The walls appear to exceed four feet of retained height and retained sloping soils. <br /> These conditions exceed the limits of IBC Section 1.5.2 Item 4. Sections and <br /> details for the design of the wall shall be provided in the construction drawings. <br /> Geotechnical design criteria and calculations substantiating the wall design shall <br /> be submitted for review. See IBC Sections 1603.1, 1604.1, 1605.1, 1610.1, and <br /> 1807.2. <br /> The walls have been revised so that no block wall is over 4'in height. <br /> c. Structural and geotechnical special inspections are required for the construction of <br /> the walls. A statement on special inspections shall be provided. The statement <br /> shall include a table listing each type of special inspections and shall specify the <br /> extent of each inspection (e.g. continuous,periodic)per IBC Section 1704.3.1. <br /> Geotechnical requirements shall be listed per IBC Table 1705.6. Inspection <br /> required per the manufacturer's construction specifications shall be listed per IBC <br /> Section 1705.1.1 Item 3. See IBC Sections 107.1, 1704.2.3 and 1704.3. <br /> Please see answer to 1.c, no block walls are over 4'in height. <br /> 2. Sheet C2.1 General Notes do not appear to be applicable to this project. Please revise or <br /> remove as appropriate. <br /> The notes have been changed. <br /> 3. Sheet C3.0 shows existing rockery and stairs along the Rucker Avenue frontage—Are <br /> these features to remain or to be removed?
