'he Uayor shall designate one of the i r. bars so appointed as Vice Chairman who shall be the Coordinator for the City of Everett. Each mciber o_' the "unicipal Defense Commission shall serve at the pleasure of the "ayor or until the repeal of this ordinance . Section 2: The iunicipal Defense Commission is hereb authorized to expend whatever funds as Ere appropriated to carry out the functions of the Defense Commission, subject , however, to all regule tions now proti=_ded by law governing this municipality . Section 3 : The ::unici1pal Defense Commission shall be charged with the duty of coordina ting all defense activities of this City. It shall : (1) Coordinate the activities of municipal and private agencies cooperating; in the defense program; (2) T:eep in contact vi th the Off ict of Civilian Defense to the end that all requests and suggestions from that office shell receive prompt and efficient responses; (3) Conduct studies regarding defense problems of the City of Everett , to the end that the muni ci pal government of the City of Everett will at all times be abreast of the --roblels of defense and infcxr tion desired by Federal agencies will be readily available ; (4) Survey existing facilities, proffers of facilities, service e=nd ideas originE tine within the ci ty End r ke approp- riate disposition of them;
