Please review and respond to the comments <br /> below. <br /> General: <br /> 1. The proposed project involves converting a single-family residence into an adult family home <br /> (AFH). The submittal documents are required to include the AFH checklist. The checklist should <br /> include a floor plan on 8.5x11 paper per Section 3. Complete Sections 1,2,and 4; do not <br /> complete Section 5. Submit the entire checklist with the floor plan. Please see the link to the <br /> Adult Family Home Checklist. <br /> 2. The submitted documents include sketches for the proposed project. The drawings should <br /> include plans, building sections, details, material specifications,design loads, architectural and <br /> structural notes, etc. as needed to clearly show the proposed work. The current editions of the <br /> building codes applicable to the project should be specified. See IRC Section R106.1.1. <br /> 8. The construction drawings should include all levels of the house. Detailed construction <br /> information is not required for areas that are not included in the proposed scope-of-work. At a <br /> minimum,the plans should show the walls, doors, egress routes,windows including egress <br /> windows, smoke and CO alarms, and use of each room. See IRC Section R106.1.1. <br /> 9. Emergency escape windows are required per IRC Section R330.6.The minimum dimensions and <br /> areas, and maximum sill height, requirements for the window should be specified in the <br /> drawings. <br /> 16. Smoke and CO alarms should be provided per IRC Sections R314 and R315. The locations of all <br /> alarms should be shown on the plans.
