March 29, 2023 <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30 p.m., March 29, 2023, <br />President Stonecipher presiding. <br /> <br />Upon roll call, it was found that Mayor Franklin, and Council Members Zarlingo, Rhyne, Fosse, <br />Schwab, Vogeli, Tuohy, and President Stonecipher were present. <br /> <br />Council Member Tuohy led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> <br />On behalf of the City Council, Council Member Zarlingo acknowledged the original inhabitants of <br />this place, the sduhubš people, and their successors, the Tulalip Tribes. <br /> <br />The minutes of the March 22, 2023, City Council meeting were approved. <br /> <br /> <br />MAYOR <br /> <br />Mayor Franklin invited Police Chief Dan Templeman to introduce new police officers. <br /> <br /> OATH – POLICE OFFICER <br /> <br />Moved by Council Member Tuohy, seconded by Council Member Zarlingo, to concur with the <br />appointment of William Stryker and Derek Setter as new Everett Police Officers. <br /> <br /> <br />Roll was called with all council members voting yes. <br /> <br /> Motion carried. <br /> <br />The Deputy City Clerk administrated the oath of office, and council members congratulated Police <br />Officers Stryker and Setter. <br /> <br />Mayor Franklin stated that she would be leaving the meeting early. <br /> <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br /> <br />Council Executive Angela Ely stated Council received one (1) written comment, and there were <br />two (2) members of the public who wished to speak. <br /> <br />• Paula Townsell – New Police Officers <br />• Mary Rollins – Agenda Item #10: Council Bill 2303-18
