John Schiavone <br />Program Director (Silver Spring, MD),Years with ITLC: 20 <br />John has been involved with transit bus maintenance and technology for over 40 years. He served <br />on the APTA staff, where he organized numerous national conferences on bus maintenance and <br />technology. Once such conference on alternatives fuels held in 1987 was one of the first for transit <br />buses. John has participated in several Transportation Research Board studies, including training <br />for on-board electronics, understanding and applying advanced on-board electronics, cost <br />comparisons between hybrid and other alternative-fueled buses, and other studies. He now works <br />with the International Transportation Learning Center to advance bus maintenance training and <br />apprenticeship programs. <br />TEAM ORGANIZATEAM ORGANIZATIONTION <br />As shown in the organizational chart below, the proposed Planning Communities Team is structured to foster a coordinated, <br />collaborative approach to the overall project while recognizing the individual skills and expertise of team members.
