Section 22: The following named officers, assistants and employees, unless otherwise provided by the City Charter, shall be appointed by the following persons, to-wit: The Deputy City Attorney and the Stenographer in the City Attorney Department shall be appointed by the City Attorney. The officers, assistants and employees in the Depart- ment of Finance shall be appointed by the Commissioner of Finance . The officers, assistants and employees in the Depart- ment of Safety shall be appointed by the Commissioner of Safety. The officers , assistants end employees in the Depart- ment of Public vborks shall be ap_bbointed by the Commissioner of Public :orks. Appointments in the Police and Fire Department, except the Chief of the Fire Department , Chief of Police, Police Matron, and Cook and Jailer shall be made subject to Civil Service regulations of the City of Everett. Section 23: That on and after the 1st day of January, 1941, the salaries and compensations to be paid to the officers, assistants and employees of the City of Everett , herein specified, shall be as in this Ordinance provided, to-wit: Section 24: CITY ATTORNEY J PARTMENT: City Attorney $250 .00 per mo.'
