April 26, 2023 <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30 p.m., April 26, 2023, <br />President Stonecipher presiding. <br /> <br />Upon roll call, it was found that Mayor Franklin, and Council Members Zarlingo, Rhyne, Tuohy, <br />Schwab, Vogeli, and President Stonecipher were present. Council Member Fosse was excused. <br /> <br />Council Member Tuohy led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> <br />On behalf of the City Council, Council Member Vogeli acknowledged the original inhabitants of <br />this place, the sduhubš people, and their successors, the Tulalip Tribes. <br /> <br />The minutes of the April 19, 2023, City Council meeting were approved. <br /> <br /> <br />MAYOR <br /> <br />Mayor Franklin stated that earlier today, Council Member Schwab and herself were honored to <br />participate in the Labor Council Worker’s Memorial Service. On behalf of the City of Everett, she <br />would like to ask all Everett residents to observe and honor the workers killed, injured, or <br />disabled on the job in service to their communities. <br /> <br />Mayor Franklin invited Deputy Police Chief Jeraud Irving to introduce a new police officer. <br /> <br /> OATH – POLICE OFFICER <br /> <br />Moved by Council Member Vogeli, seconded by Council Member Tuohy, to concur with the <br />appointment of Jenny Fuentes as a new Everett Police Officer. <br /> <br /> <br />Roll was called with all council members voting yes, except Council Member Fosse who was <br />excused. <br /> <br /> Motion carried. <br /> <br />The Deputy City Clerk administered the oath of office, and council members congratulated Police <br />Officer Fuentes. <br /> <br />Mayor Franklin, Sound Transit, and Council Member Zarlingo hosted the Sound Transit Link <br />Extension Corridor Tour of the Everett Link Extension. They visited possible station locations, and <br />had their final elected leadership group meeting, where recommendations were made on the <br />preferred sites and eliminated others. Council members, and the community expressed interest
