April 26, 2023 1 The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30 p.m., April 26, 2023, President Stonecipher presiding. Upon roll call, it was found that Mayor Franklin, and Council Members Zarlingo, Rhyne, Tuohy, Schwab, Vogeli, and President Stonecipher were present. Council Member Fosse was excused. Council Member Tuohy led the Pledge of Allegiance. On behalf of the City Council, Council Member Vogeli acknowledged the original inhabitants of this place, the sduhubš people, and their successors, the Tulalip Tribes. The minutes of the April 19, 2023, City Council meeting were approved. MAYOR Mayor Franklin stated that earlier today, Council Member Schwab and herself were honored to participate in the Labor Council Worker’s Memorial Service. On behalf of the City of Everett, she would like to ask all Everett residents to observe and honor the workers killed, injured, or disabled on the job in service to their communities. Mayor Franklin invited Deputy Police Chief Jeraud Irving to introduce a new police officer. OATH – POLICE OFFICER Moved by Council Member Vogeli, seconded by Council Member Tuohy, to concur with the appointment of Jenny Fuentes as a new Everett Police Officer. Roll was called with all council members voting yes, except Council Member Fosse who was excused. Motion carried. The Deputy City Clerk administered the oath of office, and council members congratulated Police Officer Fuentes. Mayor Franklin, Sound Transit, and Council Member Zarlingo hosted the Sound Transit Link Extension Corridor Tour of the Everett Link Extension. They visited possible station locations, and had their final elected leadership group meeting, where recommendations were made on the preferred sites and eliminated others.
