<br /> Section 01 22 20 MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT
<br /> 3. Excavation; hauling and proper disposal of excess and unsuitable
<br /> excavated native materials; hand digging as necessary; installation of
<br /> the precast vault including geotextile; installation of the new 48-inch
<br /> ALE pipe including couplings, flexible connectors, and polyethylene
<br /> wrap (for ductile iron pipe); pressure testing the 48-inch ALE pipeline;
<br /> placing and compacting suitable native material; and grading the
<br /> backfilled surface to match existing grade. No extra payment shall be
<br /> made for removing, loading, hauling, and disposing of displaced and
<br /> unsuitable material. The cost of furnishing, placing, and compacting
<br /> pipe bedding, precast junction vault subgrade and imported trench
<br /> backfill are included under Bid Items for "Crushed Surfacing Base
<br /> Course" and "Gravel Borrow".
<br /> 4. Connecting the new 48-inch ALE piping to the existing 48-inch ALE
<br /> piping and to the new precast junction vault.
<br /> 5. Installing stainless steel grating atop the precast junction vault.
<br /> 6. Steel sheeting for covering open excavations left overnight to protect
<br /> Owner staff from injury and property damage.
<br /> 7. Protection, restoration, and repair of existing utilities, structures,
<br /> equipment, and features that are to remain.
<br /> 8. Ethafoam pads or sand backfill, as necessary, to maintain separation
<br /> between the 48-inch ALE pipeline and other pipes. I
<br /> 9. Extra depth, including excavation, backfill and compaction required to
<br /> clear known buried utilities or other known obstacles.
<br /> 10. Furnishing and installing warning tape over the 48-inch ALE pipe. 1
<br /> Work required to avoid unexpected or unforeseen utilities shall be paid for
<br /> under the Bid Item "Resolution of Utility Conflicts. The costs for potholing and
<br /> excavation required to determine exact depths and locations of other utilities
<br /> shall be included with this Work with no direct compensation made.
<br /> Bid Item 21. Hydraulic Gates I
<br /> The lump sum (LS) Contract Price for"Hydraulic Gates" shall constitute full
<br /> compensation for all Work, labor, materials, tools, and equipment necessary
<br /> to furnish and install the hydraulic gates as shown on the Drawings and
<br /> specified herein, and includes, but is not limited to, the gates, anchors,
<br /> hardware, stem, stem guides, operator, pedestal, pedestal support bracket,
<br /> grout, and appurtenances necessary for a complete installation. The lump
<br /> sum price also includes demonstrating operation of the gates, testing the
<br /> gates to confirm they meet the requirements for leakage, and making
<br /> adjustments as required.
<br /> Bid Item 22. Static Weir Assembly
<br /> The lump sum (LS) Contract Price for"Static Weir Assembly" shall constitute
<br /> full compensation for all Work, labor, materials, tools, and equipment
<br /> necessary to fabricate, furnish and install the static weir assembly as shown
<br /> on the Drawings and specified herein, and includes, but is not limited to, the
<br /> weir plate, stiffening and mounting angles, anchors, hardware, grout, and
<br /> appurtenances necessary for a complete installation.
