This comment has not been completely addressed. The original comment stated that the <br /> holdown design is required to include overstrength factor on the earthquake component. The <br /> overstrength factor appears to be incorrectly applied to the net uplift force, not the earthquake <br /> component. The design should be revised. See IBC Sections 1613.1 and 1901.2, ASCE 7-10 <br /> Section 12.4.3 Equation 7, and ACI 318-14 Sections 17.2.3.3 and 17.2.3.4.3. <br /> This review has been performed for general compliance with the building codes as adopted and <br /> amended by the state of Washington and the city of Everett. Corrections and comments made <br /> during the review process do not relieve the project from compliance with code and permit <br /> requirements.
