May 17, 2023 <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30 p.m., May 17, 2023, <br />President Stonecipher presiding. <br /> <br />Upon roll call, it was found that Council Members Fosse, Rhyne, Schwab, Vogeli, Zarlingo, Tuohy, <br />and Stonecipher were present. Mayor Franklin was excused. <br /> <br />Council Member Tuohy led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> <br />On behalf of the City Council, Council Member Fosse acknowledged the original inhabitants of <br />this place, the sduhubš people, and their successors, the Tulalip Tribes. <br /> <br />The minutes of the May 10, 2023, City Council meeting were approved. <br /> <br /> <br />MAYOR’S COMMENTS <br /> <br />Mayor Franklin was excused. <br /> <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br /> <br />The following members of the public spoke: <br /> <br />• Allison Cusber – Crime and safety concerns <br />• Bryce Nickel – Support services and annexation of parts of South Everett <br />• Alan Miller – Code Enforcement issue and vacant structures <br />• Mary Rollins – Council Bill 2303-18 <br /> <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Council comments and liaison reports were provided by council members. <br /> <br />Council Members Rhyne and Fosse requested an update on the relocation of the EUCC shelter. <br /> <br />Council Member Fosse also requested additional information regarding safety protections for all <br />staff similar to proposed Council Bill 2303-18. <br /> <br />Assistant City Attorney Ramsey Ramerman stated that staff will be conducting an analysis of staff <br />protections. He estimates that analysis to take six months.
