The application requires letters of support from the City Council, prosecution and defense. The Everett Therapeutic Services Court has had five people successfully complete the program and have their charges dismissed, in just the first year of the program. In addition, each of the five were heavy service utilizers who had multiple arrests, days spent in jail, and court appearances across the span of many years. There are currently about 20 individuals who are in various stages of the program. We anticipate doubling that over the course of the next year if the Court is successful in this grant application. Recommendation (exact action requested of Council): Approve submission of a letter of support to the Administrative Office of the Courts for continued grant funding of the Everett Municipal Courts Therapeutic Services Court.
