0 DI1T U CE I:0 . 2813. . <br /> AN ORDINANCE authorizing the surrender by North Coast Transportation Company <br /> of certain street and electric interurban railway tracks and certain <br /> franchises for the operation thereof and accepting the offer of said <br /> company to pay the sum of $18,963.49 for a full release of said company, <br /> its predecessors in interest and its successors and assigns, from cer— <br /> tain obligations under said franchises, and declaring an emergency. <br /> WHEREAS NORTH COAST TRANSPORTATION COMPANY, a Washington corpora— <br /> tion, heretofore acquired the right to maintain street railway tracks and <br /> to operate street cars thereover and also the right to maintain and operate <br /> an electric interurban railway upon and along certain streets, avenues and <br /> public places within the City of Everett under and by virtue ae certain fran— <br /> chises, and in particular under the following franchises: <br /> Franchise granted to Edward P. Burch by Ordinance No. 252 <br /> of the City of Everett, passed on December 3, 1900, as <br /> amended by Ordinance No. 2037 passed on August 15, 1922; <br /> Franchise granted to Pacific Northwest Traction Company <br /> by Ordinance No. 2036, passed on August 15, 1922; and <br /> WHEREAS all of such street railway and electric interurban opera— <br /> tions have now been abandoned and said North Coast Transportation Company has <br /> surrendered to the City all rights and privileges now held by said company <br /> under any of said franchises, and has surrendered to the city all street and <br /> interurban railway tracks now osned by said company which are located in any <br /> of the streets, avenues or other public places of said city, including all <br /> of t .•-• ties, rails and track accessories, and has offered to pay the sum of <br /> $18,963.49 for a full release from all obligations of every kind, except as <br /> stated in said offer, arising out of or under said franchises or any of them, <br /> and in particular for a full release from the obligation to remove said tracks <br /> upon abandonment of street railway and interurban operations and to repave <br /> the streets after such track removal, such release to extend to and be for <br /> the benefit of Puget Sound Power & Light Company, as well as North Coast <br /> Transportation Company, and all of the predecessors in interest and successors <br /> and assigns of each thereof, including Everett Bus System, Inc., as the pres— <br /> ent holder of the franchise granted by Ordinance No. 2037, and for that pur— <br /> pose North Coast Transportation Company filed with the city clerk on the , <br /> day of i?Dr i 1 _ ., 1939, the following written offer: <br />
