y • ORDINANCE No. 2794 AN OFDINJITCE fixing and determining the number of the various officers , assistants , deputies and employees of the City of Everett; prescribing the duties of such officers, assistants, deputies and employees; fixing their salaries and repealing Ordinance No. 2752, es amended by Ordinances No. 2761 and No. 2767 ,of the City of Everett, and providing that this ordinanc shall take effect on January 1, 1939. THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: That beginning January 1, 1939 , and on and after said date , the various officers , assistants, deputies and employees of the City of Everett, in addition to those provided 1 for in the Charter of the City of Everett, shall be as in this ordinance provided. Section 2: CITY ATTORNEY. There shall be in the office of the City Attorney a Deputy City Attorney and a stenographer. Said Deputy City Attorney and said stenographer shall perform such duties as the City Attorney may authorize and direct. Section 3: CITY HALL. There sha__l be in the City Hall one (1) janitor and one (1) assistant janitor. They shall perform the janitor work in connection with the City Hall. Section 4: LIE± ARY DEPAR_TT,ENT. There shall be in the Library Department , the follow- ing named officers, assistants and employees: One (1) librarian; One (1) First Assistant Librarian; One (1) Childrens' Librarian; One (1) Cataloger; One (1) Substitute Professional Assistant ; One (1) Desk Clerk; One (1) Clerk (part time) , and One (1) Typist and Clerk, and Various Assistants (part time) . The librarian shall be in general charge and have supervision of the library department . The other officers and assistants shall perform such duties as pertain to the nature of their office and as authorized and directed by the librarian. pEPART?_ENT OF FINANCE. Section 5: CI`1Y CLERK. There shall be the following named deputies and assistants in the office of the City Clerk, to-wit: One (1) Deputy City Clerk; One (1) Stenographer and Clerk, and Clerks (part time) . It shall be the duty of such officers, deputies and assistants to perform the duties pertaining to the office of the City Clerk, under the authority end direction of said City Clerk.
