Section 6 : CITY TREASURER. There shall be the following named deputies and assist- ants in the office of the City Treasurer, to-wit: One (1) Deputy City Treasurer; One (1) Assistant Deputy City Treasurer; One (1) Water Cashier; One (1) Assistant Water Cashier; One (1) Clerk and Bookkeeper, and Clerks (part time) . It shall be the duty of such deputies and employees to perform the duties pertaining to the office of the City Treasurer as the City Treasurer shall authorize and direct. DE3A.RT1ENT OF SAFETY. Section 7: HEALTH DEPARTMENT. There shall be the following named assistants in the Health Department , to-wit : One (1) Health Officer (part time ) ; One (1) Deputy Health Officer, (part time) ; One (1) Milk and Food Inspector; One (1) Meat Inspector (part time ) and One (1) Stenographer (part time) . It shall be the duty of such officers and assistants to perform the duties pertaining to said department under the direction of the Health Officer and Commissioner of Safety. Section 8: POLICE DEPARTDTENT. There shall be the following named officers and assistants in the Police Department, to-wit: One (1) Chief of Police ; One (1) Captain of Police; One (1) Sergeant Inspector; Four ( 4) Sergeants; Three (3) Plain Clothes Men; Nineteen (19 ) First-class Patrolmen; Three (3) Second-class Patrolmen; One (1) Police Matron; One (1) Jailor and Cook; and One (1) Stenographer (part time ) . It shell be the duty of the officers and assistants in said department to perform the duties indicated by the name of their employment, and such other duties as the Chief of Police or Cormissioner of Safety may authorize and direct. Section 9: DEPARTlII T. There shall be the following named officers and assist- ants in the Fire Department , to-wit: One (1) Chief of Department ; One (1) First Assistant Chief of Department; One (1) Second Assistant Chief of Depart- ment ; One (1) Superintendent of Fire and Police Signals; One (1) Assistant Superintendent of Fire and Police Signals; One (1) Fire Marshal and Secretary; Six (6) Captains; One (1) Mechanic and Senior Pipeman; One (1) Assistant Mechanic and Senior Pipeman; Nineteen (19) Senior Pipemen; Six ( 6) Junior Pipemen and Four (4) Second-year Pipemen . It shall be the Duty of such assistants in said depart- ment to perform the auties indicated by the name of their employ- ment and such other duties as the Chief of the Fire Department or Commissioner of Safety may authorize and direct.
